Polar Plunge for Haiti 2011! Please support me as I take the plunge at Nahant Beach on the first day of spring. You can make a pledge on my page or you can take the plunge yourself!
This summer, I will be spending two months as an intern at Mission of Hope in Titanyen Haiti. Mission of Hope is an incredible organization that runs an orphanage, school, clinic, church, and prosthetic lab. All donations go directly to MOH and are 100% tax deductible. Since the earthquake, Mission of Hope was able to:
- Deliver over 15 million meals
- Begin feeding 50,000 children a day
- Treat 27,000 patients at the Clinic of Hope
- Perform 266 orthopedic and plastic surgeries
- Provide 75 prosthetic limbs
- Construct 18 village homes
- Start construction on building a 500 home community
- Build a patient ward and medical storage facility
- Expand the School of Hope to include over 2,500 students
- Equip over 200 family farmers with agricultural training
- See over 1,000 people make first-time commitments to follow Jesus
