Steven's Story (2010)

Our son has Epilepsy!  That is a fact, but what also is a fact is that Steven is a wonderfully vibrant and opinionated 3 year old.

He was diagnosed with Epileptic Seizure Disorder at the age of 6 mos and he experiences Partial Complex, and Generalized Convulsive seizures. He loves to play with his little brother and this year started Karate. We try to let him be as much of a normal little boy as we can, but sometimes that is impared by his seizure activity.

In July of 2010 we had his 3rd annual 24 hour EEG and unfortunately it has shown that he has taken a turn in the opposite direction than we were hoping for and he has slid back down into a period of high seizure activity. We have changed his meds over 9 times in the past 2 months and so far, nothing seems to be working.

Steven's epilepsy is intractable and we need your support more than ever to find a cure and new treatments to help those that aren't getting the relief they need from the medications and are running out of options.
