It's a whole new organization (AIDS Care---our name since our merger)....it's a whole new event (it's a walk, a run, a short and long bike ride----AND a dog event!!)....it's a whole new time of year (September instead of June)...BUT IT'S THE SAME GREAT CAUSE!!!

That's right, we're doing it again----my husband, Jason, and I (yes, that's right...effective 7/25/2011 we are legally MARRIED in NY State!!) will be walking together to raise money for a cause that is very close to our hearts...both personally and professionally: HIV/AIDS.

Many of you have supported my efforts to raise money for this walk over the years---and we appreciate it so much.  For the past 5 years I've even been among the top 3 individual fundraisers (and was the TOP fundraiser in 2010)!!  I wish I could say that the time to support us, and this cause, was over.  Sadly, however, it is not.

HIV continues to impact so many vulnerable communities---young people, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender) people, people of color, and the poor to name a few---and those of us with any means at all have a moral obligation to do our part...and that is why Jason and I walk and raise money...every year.  All the money raised through this event supports the agency I work for, AIDS Care, and its work to provide life-saving treatments to people living with HIV, support to these patients and their families, and education, prevention measures & testing to high risk communities.  In other words---money raised REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE!!
