Thank you for visiting our Act Now for Darfur - A Call to Action Event page!
A group of young adults in the Metro Detroit area, led by illana Stern, got together recently to ask, "What can we do to take action and be a voice for Darfur?" The answer is a community wide event with the goal of raising awareness, providing means to take immediate action and reconfirm the world's commitment to "Never Again."
April 26th, 4-6 pm at the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills.
Solar Cooker Project: Help to prevent rape and other forms of violence against female refugees from Darfur/Sudan.
Currently women in refugee camps are placed in extreme jeopardy when undertaking the simple but vital task of collecting firewood for cooking fuel.
You can help reduce the vulnerability of these women by providing the Iridimi camp in Chad with solar cookers, thereby eliminating the need to collect firewood. Click on Give Now to make a donation to Jewish World Watch for the Solar Cooker Project.
