Hello everybody! (: My name is Erika Schwerdtfeger and I am (now) 12 years old! In 4th grade (about 2 years ago) i met the cutest kids ever. They happened to be down syndrome. To some kids, down syndrome people are "scary". Truth is they are not. They are beautiful people... inside and out. Great people too. Unfortunatly, I used to go to the same school as them. Now I don't :( I miss them so much, they were like my brothers. About 1 1/2 years ago, I realized I wanted to help them-- Not just them, but everybody. Kids are kids. They should be able to go outside, play with friends, play any sport they want. But sometimes, they cant. Many kids have issues in their lifes. Sicknesses, cancer, mental issues.. and more! They are living a hard life.. what I want for them is to be happy, and not afraid when the bad things happen. Until I can't help any longer.. I will be helping. They deserve it. With your help, we can all make those kids have the greatest life possible. Starlight Children's foundation makes that happen!
