For those who are not aware of my story, I have spent 2010 in and out of the hospital, and am starting 2011 with a lupus 'flare.'

I have lost 13 inches of my colon, my gall bladder, my uterus, my ovaries, and my cervix due to complications from Lupus. My liver and kidneys continue to be attacked off and on, as well as my skin and now my spine and brain. Right now we are most concerned with my spine and I am undergoing a series of procedures to knock out the inflammation in my neck and spine. Fun times. Not really. 

The bottom line is I don't have anymore non-vital organs left to give. I am trying to work as best I can, and raise two amazing kids as best I can with the help of my husband Aaron. This isn't easy when you are in and out of treatment and having good and bad days. 

Lupus has now become our arch nemesis. And our family is dedicated to kicking it's ass. No one likes what it has put me through- 3 surgeries- 5 hospital stays- countless pills, weekly injections and even chemo. Yes, Lupus can suck it. 

My family and I would very much appreciate your support as we raise money to support research and to help further treatments for this auto-immune disorder. We've signed up for this 5k- Aaron will run it and I will, hopefully, walk it. Hopefully. If not... I will stand there and at least look cute. All the money goes directly to help LupusLA find a cure and stop this really stupid disorder I hope dies in a fire.
