Erin Lashnits's Fundraising Page
Thanks for visiting my fundraising webpage!
**Woohoo! I reached my fundraising goal with almost 2 weeks to spare. HUGE thanks to everyone who donated already!! Let's keep it going and raise more money for STAP!***
I'm cycling for the first time this year with the Veterinary Bikers team for the Southern Tier AIDS Ride for Life. I'll be cycling 100 miles around Cayuga Lake on September 12, raising money and awareness for the Southern Tier AIDS Program!
This is the second year the Veterinary Bikers team have made an appearance at this Ride, and last year we had 13 riders and raised over $8000 dollars. This year we have more people (including me!) and a team goal of $1,500, so I'm hoping to raise $300 towards that goal. The website http://www.aidsrideforlife.org/ has a lot more info if you're interested.
Traveling in Tanzania this summer I was able to see first hand the huge public health issues raised by a significant portion of the population living with HIV and in compromised immune states--whether it was worrying about TB and pneumonia in crowded cities or ebola and anthrax while examining wildlife. This really drove home for me the impact of HIV/AIDS on people's lives, and inspired me to act more locally here in Western New York. All the money raised is used right here with our local AIDS community organization. For more information on STAP, check out http://www.stapinc.org/new2/
I appreciate ANYTHING at all you can give, even if it's only $5! Every little bit helps. Feel free to use the website or send me a check or paypal!
Thanks for supporting me and the Veterinary Bikers team!
