Erin Rose's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
This is an event that is very near and dear to my heart. I participated in training with The Little Team That Could two years ago to help raise money for the Carcinoid Foundation in honor of Payton Farnell Graeber. My best friend, Payton's younger sister Sarah, founded this team in an effort to turn grief into positive action and to do her small part to help put an end to this disease.
This year the cause hits even closer to home for me. I lost my own father to a different but equally as rare and deadly cancer as the Carcinoid that took Payton's life in 2007. My daddy, John Rose, was diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma in his right leg in the summer of 2008 and lost his life to the disease by March of 2009.
As I train for the half marathon, just about a year after my father's passing, I think of him and the passion he had for life. He always wanted me to do my best and try my hardest at everything I do. This training is one of the toughest things I have ever done and I sincerely believe that he would be proud. As I push myself through the limits of what I thought I could do, I find that the sense of accomplishment also brings me a great peace. It truly is with joy that I carry on in this effort. Much love to all.
Thank you so much for your support, in these tough times a little really does do a lot -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
