Marvin Memorial Walk for the Animals
Dear Friends:
I would humbly like to ask of your support for the upcoming 9th Annual Marvin Memorial Walk in honor of my dog Marvin who left me on Jan15, 2010 after 7 1/2 wonderful years. Marvin was given up twice for doing nothing wrong and spent months in the shelter waiting for a thrid chance. On Nov. 1st, 2002, I adopted Marvin and as the saying goes, the third time is a charm. Little did I know how true that saying played out in our 7 1/2 years together. He accomplished so much in such a short time becoming the nation's National Pet Therapy Dog of the Year in 2009. His legacy still ives on through the Marvin Fund which was created in 2003 in hopes of giving others another chance. The Marvin Fund through the years has helped over 2200 animals who were in need get a second chance and stay with their owners who were most elderly or disabled. Without his help many of these owners would have to have parted with their beloved pets. The Marvin Fund has also helped countless numbers of animals get adopted who otherwise would not have through the RSIPCA's Marvin's Friend program. Your support which would be greatly appreciated will allow Marvin to continue to help those who can not help themselves. He may be gone from our presence but his deeds will forever be in the history of the RISPCA.
Sincerely,
EjFinocchio, D.V.M.
President RISPCA
