With a team of friends on October 25th I am running a marathon in Washington. My challenge is to finish! as I have an ongoing injury. But more importantly on the otherside of the world we have an ongoing challenge, we need to raise money for a charity called Merlin.

 Merlin is a global humanitarian organisation, specialising in saving lives in times of crisis and also committed to looking beyond to safeguard long-term health.

Maternal health is a priority right now with a mother dying every minute from pregnancy-related causes. 75% of these lives could be saved if there was access to a trained midwife  and emergency obstetric care.  You can learn more about the Hands Up for Health Care Workers campaign here www.youtube.com/watch

$2 will vaccinate a child against measles

$10 will provide a stethoscope to monitor an unborn child's heartbeat

$50 can pay for treatment to prevent HIV + pregnant women passing the virus onto babies

$150 will feed 5 malnourished children for a month

$200 will provide birthing kits for a community midwife to deliver 10 babies

$1000 will buy medical kits to equip six community midwives

All the fundraising  our team collects will directly go to Merlin.
