Hi everyone,

For a long time, it’s been a dream of mine to one day compete in a marathon. On Saturday, January 30^th, I’ll be taking the first step toward achieving that dream, and I would like to ask for your help.

I’m running in my first half-marathon, a 300-person race along Maryland’s C&O Canal, a.k.a. the "Grand Old Ditch." While the canal runs about 184 miles long, I’m aiming to make it through 13.1 of them (unless I get lost, in which case, expect a postcard from West Virginia sometime in June).

I would be grateful to have your support as I embark on this adventure. The race is being held to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the High Cloud Foundation, a nonprofit working to alleviate poverty among society’s most vulnerable, including children, orphans and displaced mothers.

My goal is to raise $300 to support these organizations. Any amount you can give, even $10, will be one step closer to that goal.
