As we raise money for this year's cancer walk, we are doing so with the very personal understanding that we are helping people with their diagnoses and treatment. Deirdre was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last summer and had her surgery at QMC. It was also QMC that diagnosed Deirdre's breast cancer early four years ago, leading to successful removal and treatment. Through both cancers, Deirdre managed to stay in nursing school, and we are proud to announce that she is now a nurse!

We cannot stop fundraising until cancer is no longer a life-threatening disease.
