FORCE is the only national nonprofit organization devoted to hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Our mission includes support, education, advocacy, awareness, and research specific to hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. Our programs serve anyone with a BRCA mutation or a family history of cancer.
A new FORCE group has been started in Memphis and we are working hard to meet our fundraising goals. We hope to share the support with others in our area.
Irene's Story:
Both my mother and her birth mother had Breast Cancer. Her birth mother died at the age of 36 (my mom was only 9).
I have the BRCA 2 mutation. My chances of developing Breast Cancer are around 84%
I'm mother to a very active little boy. He’s the reason I’ve decided to have a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy. I had my PBM on January 11th, 2013.

Michelle's Story:
I’m adopted so I have very little information about my family history so when I began to develop tumors at an early age and no one ever thought they were all brought on by a genetic condition-until my neurosurgeon.
I tested positive for Cowden’s syndrome, which is a P10 gene mutation, and carries a large breast cancer risk
I underwent a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy in April 2011
