Our foster dog, Alice with the curly tail, came from a shelter to GGBR in March with a rare and aggressive tumor in her mouth.  Alice's friendly nature and funny little personality were enough to make us want to give her a chance at life and adoption, if we could afford the surgery. Thanks to her wonderful surgeon, Golden Gate Basset Rescue and to you, the generous donors, Alice's tumor is gone now.  She is almost completely recovered and has a good prognosis for the tumor not to come back.  Surgery has allowed her to go from being a hospice case, to being available to find a new loving home.

Alice was not the only rescue dog requiring expensive veterinary treatment this spring.  Nearly all dogs that come to us require at least a visit to the veterinarian and vaccinations.  Many require spaying or neutering or dentistry/ tooth extractions.  Others, like Alice, require more.  Please donate so that we can continue to help deserving dogs like Alice and her friends.

Join us on July 4, 2009 in Novato for our annual Waddle for Rescue (aka City of Novato Fourth of July Parade).  Alice will be there, joined by as many as 50-100 other basset hounds, all walking to support basset hound rescue.
