Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Hello Friends and Family:
I hope everyone is healthy and well!
On Sunday , March 20th, I will be one more time running the NYC Half Marathon on behalf of TEAM STUPID CANCER benefiting i[2]y "I am too young for this Cancer Foundation" . This year I have the special honor of being the teams' captain. Ironic, scary , humbling and inspiring. I will lead a team of 25 survivors, a few first time runners as they take this challenge that I know personally is much more than a physical challenge ... it is literally looking cancer in the eye and saying : I won!
The day after the race it will be my 4th year Cancerniversary! This is how I want to celebrate!
Last year I ran in honor of 2 young adults that were battling Lymphoma: Kim and Andre. After a scary/dangerous/aggressive treatment protocol Andre is enjoying his new (very grateful) life in his beloved Barcelona, surrounded by loved ones. He is regaining his strength, weight and HAIR. Unfortunately Kim lost her brave battle on July 17th 2010. She was 34 years old. She was also a talented opera singer ..she was funny. ... You see the odds!
This year I run in honor of Bertrand Revel and Paola Betteli Mahe. Bertrand is newly diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. Bertrand is the husband of a very dear friend, he is the father of 2 young children and I wish them strength as they navigate this scary time of early treatment. Paola recently finished treatment for breast cancer. She reminded me that grace and tenacity are inspiring and necessary in this fight and she had both in abundance.
I also will run in loving memory of Ali Bouzan. A young woman who courageously fought breast cancer until it took her life a year ago.
So many of you have supported me in many ways and many have been incredibly generous in the past. I also know that there are so many causes to support and so little resources. Your donation is appreciated , regardless of the amount.
To make a donation click here . It is easy and safe AND is tax deductible and help the 70,000 young adults diagnosed with cancer every year by ending isolation and creating a community among the YA survivors.
And if you can, please come cheer us on!
thank you very much!
