Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!  Yes, that's me, and no, it wasn't a dip over last summer.  Last year, I braved the frigid waters of Long Island Sound to raise funds for an incredible charity that makes a difference every day in the lives of thousands of adults and children in Bridgeport, one of the more economically depressed cities in Connecticut.

I'm proud and excited to once again take the plunge to support the Burroughs Community Center, its great work and its absolutely incredible people.  Although the water temperature was cold last year, this year looks like it will really top the charts!  As I jump into the frigid waters (current temperature is 33.8 degrees F) of Long Island Sound on February 5th, help keep my heart warm by helping meet my goal to raise $2,500 for this worthwhile cause.

This insanity only comes once a year, so I hope you'll consider helping the cause.  After all, not only will you gain satisfaction in knowing that you made a difference, but you'll also be able to rib me about what a nut I am to subject myself to this experience.  As the saying goes, the donation is small, but the look on my face as I emerge from the 34 degree temperature Long Island Sound will be priceless!

At Burroughs a donation of:

-$25 would provide a backpack for a 5th grade Tutoring member

-$50 would purchase notebooks and pencils for the Quick Start Language Center

-$100 would buy cooking supplies for one week of the Kids in the Kitchen program

-$250 would provide basketballs, dodge balls and jump ropes for After School outdoor recreation

-$500 would provide art supplies for the Summer program

-$1,000 would purchase a laptop to complete hundreds of tax returns during the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program
