Next Event: Furnace Creek 508 - October 2nd - 4th, 2010
"The Toughest 48 hours in Sport," it is the world's premier ultramarathon bicycle race. This 508-mile bicycle race is revered the world over for its epic mountain climbs, stark desert scenery, desolate roads, and its reputation as one of the toughest but most gratifying endurance challenges available, bar none. The course has a total elevation gain of over 35,000', crosses ten mountain passes, and stretches from Santa Clarita (just north of Los Angeles), across the Mojave Desert, through Death Valley National Park and Mojave National Preserve, to Twentynine Palms.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and helping me make a difference in the lives of kids with brain tumors!
Through my many events over the next few years, I am raising money through The Endurance Trust, to help find a cure for pediatric brain tumors. I am blessed with two perfect little girls...but for months, as my wife was in the hospital carrying them, I often thought of what it would be like not being this blessed! Other families with kids just like mine have had to wake up to the reality that the world is not perfect as they face the diagnosis of a child with a brain tumor. Right now, there are no cures and treatment is scarce.
My next extreme race is the Furnace Creek 508 bike race on Oct 2. This 508 mile bicycle race is revered the world over for its epic mountain climbs, stark desert scenery, desolate roads, and its reputation as one of the toughest but most gratifying endurance challenges available, bar none. Total elevation gain: 35,000'. It starts near Los Angeles, winds through the Mojave Desert, Death Valley, ends in 29 Palms, and has a cutoff time of 48 hours! This will truly be an epic struggle, but nothing compared to the struggles that kids with brain tumors face each day...and I will keep that thought in mind when I feel like giving up!!
I am dedicating my efforts over the next years to help raise money for and awareness of this disease - and I appreciate all the support you can give me. With money, there can be research. With research, there can be a cure.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
