Cleveland 'Ride for Kids' June 10th, 2007

I'm taking part in the 2007 Ride for Kids® - Cleveland, OH to raise money for Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and would really welcome your support.

For several years I have been an observer of the Ride for Kids during the Honda-Hoot Rally in Knoxville, Tennessee . This is the third year Cleveland Ride and I have participated the past two years. While it was easy for me to enjoy the police escorted ride with 175 fellow motorcyclists - in the end it was about helping to find the cause and cure of pediatric brain tumors. The Cleveland Ride in two years has raised $62107.

There are many children in our own Cleveland area who have been diagnosed. Many of these courageous kids have endured the pain of brain surgery, chemo, whole brain radiation, and gamma knife radiation. Some children have undergone the treatments more than a dozen times. Some of treatments are successful; still too many young children die still having a will to fight. Someday, with the help of researchers and groups like the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, this killer will be defeated!

While this may paint a hopeless picture, today there or more survivors! More children being children one day, one month or one year longer - with help, hopefully ALL children will be called survivors.

I am riding again this year for the kids, rain or shine. My personal goal is to raise $1,500 to help provide hope and emotional support for the thousands of children and families affected by this life threatening disease. Over 88% of the money raised actually goes directly to programs for families and research. Help me to get the word out about these kids. To raise public awareness about this horrible disease, that is the #1 killer of children by cancer. Join me, my fellow motorcyclists and all the volunteers across America as we do what we can for these courageous Kids.
