This organization was founded in 2007 in response to the Doktor family's 6-year journey through childhood cancer. Our ongoing work helps children and families living with cancer or other catastrophic challenges. Projects and programs are designed to place hope, happiness and empowerment into the hands and lives of children and families facing life-threatening and catastrophic challenges.
Our work includes:
* Direct support for local families in Boston's North Shore, Greater Boston area and New England
* Developing and sustaining childlife programs, events and supplies for children and teens treated at Childrens Hospital Boston's oncology and transplant units and Dana Farber Cancer Institute's Jimmy Fund Clinic
* Care packages and support for pediatric patients and their families treated at other hospitals such as Mass General and Shriners.
* Limited support for international projects to help children in extreme need, partnering with established non-profits in those areas
* Programs, events and experiences for siblings and families
* Educational or cultural opportunities (camps, concerts, plays, museums, classes)
* Engaging students, adults and communities affected by such experiences to participate in educational, community-service and/or celebratory events and classes that transform grief into hope
