Garrett Spitz's Fundraising Page

Hey Folks,

Thanks for taking the time to check out my fundraising website! On October 12th, 2008, I will be running the Chicago Marathon with other men and women from Shelter Rock Church in Manhasset/Syosset, NY. We are running to raise money for World Vision in Zambia and we need your help!

In addition to addressing our spiritual need for a savior, I believe that Jesus Christ came to this world to provide for our physical and social needs as well. With the same idea in mind, World Vision works to tackle the root causes of poverty by working with children, families, and their communities to provide things like: clean water, health care, nutritious food, education, and economic opportunities.

In Zambia, there is a great need for such development. During the 1970s, Zambia began sliding into a poverty from which it has not recovered. Zambia's total foreign debt exceeded $6 billion in 2000; the growing population strains the economic growth and HIV/AIDS is widespread. The average per capita income is $395, placing Zambia as one of the world's poorest countries.

If you are interested in supporting us, would you please consider:

1) Praying for us to train and complete the race injury free!

and

2) Clicking on the SPONSOR ME NOW button to make a one time donation.

and/or

Click ing on the SPONSOR A CHILD button below to change the life of a child for $35 per month, and be changed through your relationship with that child. World Vision is a solid organization and if you are interested in sponsoring a child overseas, I highly recommend using World Vision.

Thank you in advance for any help that you can give!
