Hello Everyone,

As many of you are aware, I frequently jump into cold water and go diving for fun. I have done this in the cold waters around Catalina, Anacapa, the majority of the shore dives in the So Cal area. Many of you have even gone out on occasion with me for these crazy experiences. Well, I'm at it again only this time I would like your help. This time, winter in Indiana.

My Knights of Columbus group is teaming up a good old fashioned competition to raise money for the Special Olympics. We are doing this by asking for donations in the form of sponsering us in our "Polar Plunge". I need sponsors. I will be stripping down to swim wear and jumping in the water at Eagle Creek near Indianapolis, Indiana on February 25, 2012. Think about this: it was down below 20 degrees most of last week. You know this "Plunge" is not something I would consider if I were not completely committed to helping special needs kids win. While the Knights of Columbus members of District 21, Counsel 12510 are determined to win bragging rights for raising the most money for the folks at Special Olympics, the real winners will be our sponsers and the children.

My point is: If I'm crazy enough to jump in, would you be willing to sponser me? Its easy for you to feel good too, and you don't have to jump in the cold water in the winter like a Polar Bear. Just sponsor my Plunge. We can laugh together at my insanity (I will be sure to have someone film it and post the video to my Facebook account) and we will be helping children fulfill their dreams of competition and achievement through Special Olympic events. Consider my request carefully. We all have known a child that has benefitted from the Special Olympic organization.

Thank you for your generous support, pray that it is not 10 degrees below on the day that I do the plunge. Even if the daytime temperature is up that day, the ice currently covering most bodies of water is sure to make for a chilly session. I am committed to helping these children and hope that you will make a contribution to help me. No contribution is too small, just follow the directions for sponsoring my plunge.
