As many of you know, I really enjoy the outdoors--sailing, biking, running,  x-c skiing. Living on Burt Lake, I appreciate the importance of clean, healthy water.  That is why I recently began doing volunteer work for Freshwater Future. In addition, I am now a Board Member.

I am very pleased to be a part of Freshwater Future.  We're working hard to insure a healthy future for the Great Lakes and the surrounding waters that feed into the Lakes.

I grew up near the shore of Lake Michigan.  I now live on Burt Lake, a large inland lake that connects to Lake Huron.  I love the Great Lakes!! -- and the inland lakes.  I want our grandchildren and great grandchildren - yours and mine - to expereince the Lakes as I have.

There are so many threats to our resources--Asian carp, toxic wastes from the past, over development, contaminated runfoff, and many more. That is why I am raising funds to help citizen efforts around the Great Lakes to tackle these issues.

This summer, I will be biking to raise money for Freshwater Future.  Between now and early September,  I plan to have at least 1 bike ride of 50 miles.  It will be along the shores of Lake Michigan.  Would you like to join me? - let me know.   I will post photos of my efforts on Facebook.
