2011 Keybank Vermont City Marathon
Running again! That's right- year 2 will be bigger and better!
Still running to help raise money and awareness for research that helps some amazing kids and families that I have come to know and love. Will keep running until we find a cure!
These kids are battling a deadly form of cancer called neuroblastoma. Our lab is doing research to help find a CURE! There are two things that I can tell you for sure: First, there is a cure, and second, 100% of your donations will go to helping find this cure. We do not use any of the money for anything other than our research.
I could go on and on about this horrible cancer, or I could let one of our families show you:

If you still want more information about neuroblastoma and our program:
Neuroblastoma Facts
* In the United States, about 600 children are diagnosed with neuroblastoma each year.
It is the most common tumor found in children younger than 1 year of age.
* Every 16 hours a child with neuroblastoma dies.
* There is no known cure for relapsed neuroblastoma.
* Nearly 70% of those children first diagnosed with neuroblastoma have disease that has already metastasized or spread to other parts of the body. When disease has spread at diagnosis and a child is over the age of 2, there is less than a 30% chance of survival.
At the Vermont Cancer Center, Dr. Giselle Sholler, a pediatric oncologist and assistant professor of pediatrics, is attracting patients from around the world with her innovative clinical trials. The Penelope & Sam Fund provides ongoing funding for Dr. Sholler's clinical trials and her basic science.
