George Foley's Fundraising Page
Many of you know that I have spent my career working in Oncology; however I am asking you to support a cause much closer to home. This past May, my wife’s cousin, Joe Morrone, lost a year-long battle against a rare form of neuroendocrine cancer. He was just 28 years old.
To honor Joe’s brave battle, I am training to run the Marine Corps Marathon on October 25th to raise money for the Caring for Carcinoid Foundation (CFCF). I am inspired to run in Joe’s memory in order to help find a cure for this rare form of cancer and support CFCF in their work to eliminate the suffering of patients, families and caregivers affected by NETs.
CFCF, founded by an individual who lost a close relative to a NET, directs 100% of all individual donations to fund breakthrough scientific research of carcinoid and related NETs, with the goal of curing these diseases. CFCF’s mission is urgent. Metastatic carcinoid is a deadly cancer with few treatments available.
Please support me - every step I take is a step closer to a cure for carcinoid and related NETs.
