Description: The Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children has been committed to leading the way in providing cutting-edge services to the children and families of Massachusetts. MSPCC has grown to become one of the largest private child and family welfare organizations in Massachusetts. MSPCC's services range from Family Counseling Clinics, to Early Intervention, to GoodStart home visiting. Programs such as, MSPCC's Children's Champion Network (CCN) trains volunteers in each legislative district to be child and family advocates. These volunteers play a crucial part of MSPCC's ability to deliver needed services to families.

Mission: Aroused by the Mary Ellen child abuse case and concerned with conditions for children in Massachusetts, a small group of leading citizens decided to take positive action. On April 23, 1878, the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (MSPCC) was created. From its inception, MSPCC's goal has been to identify both latent and emerging critical issues and strategies in the arena of child and family welfare. MSPCC is a private, non-profit agency dedicated to protecting and promoting the rights and well being of children and families throughout the state.
