Our personal message:
Hello Supporters,
On September 25, 2008, Community Rowing Inc. launched the new Adaptive Rowing Program. It was an exciting day for all as we held an inaugural row in a boat adapted for our first individual rower, John Horgan. The Adaptive Rowing Program is the first of its kind in Boston that makes rowing a possibility for individuals with disabilities by modifiying standard rowing shells to meet their needs.
As we open our new state-of-art, CRI's Harry Parker Boathouse, we would like to ask for your sponsorship as each of our races for CRI's Adaptive Rowing Program.
CRI was founded in 1985 by a group of Olympic rowers who wanted to secure public access to rowing in Boston. Today, CRI is the largest most successful community access rowing program in the country.
CRI is known for many traditional and non-traditional programs. These programs include recreational and competitive rowing for youth and adults. Hallmark programs include G-Row Boston, an after school rowing program for 200 girls enrolled in the Boston Public Schools, a partnership with the Perkins Schools for the Blind and Newton Special Athletes. In the summer, CRI supports out-reach programs for low-income youth. Last year, we reached over 600 people.
For the last 20 years, CRI used an ice rink for its operations for spring, summer and fall. The opening of our new boathouse will allow year round access for rowing, training and learning and will allow us to reach out to more people and increase program development.
Your sponsorship will go directly to CRI's new boathouse for equipment and operating costs that will benefit the Adaptive Rowing Program.
Please consider supporting our efforts as CRI QUADS RACE THE CHARLES.
Fittingly, October is “National Disabilities Awareness Month”.
We are aiming for 100 % participant in giving so we can fulfill our "Access for All" mission. Even a modest contribution helps our program. If everyone gave $1.00, we would be closer to our goal.
