Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
As many of you know, I'm very active in a number of social issues; some of which can be a bit controversial. This, however, is an issue that anyone can get behind.
I am walking to help raise money for the Uncompensated Care Fund at Seattle Children's Hospital (read below to learn why). Please support our team by making a donation in Zoe's honor. You can donate quickly, easily and securely though this website.
Please forward this to anyone else who might want to donate.
Zoe's Story:
In December of 2007, my best-friend’s 6-month old daughter Zoe was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. At each step of the way, Seattle Children’s has put Zoe’s health and well-being first and foremost. Though the prognosis for her type of cancer is quite grim, everyone has forged ahead with hope and optimism, providing her with comprehensive, state-of-the-art treatment at every turn. Her treatment team said, "We will never give up on Zoe."
Zoe received very costly services - brain surgery, chemotherapy, stem cell harvest, and many long hospitalizations. Zoe's family qualified for financial assistance from Seattle Children’s generous Uncompensated Care Fund. The hospital simply took care of whatever insurance didn’t cover. They never got a bill. The Earlywines could have easily been the next middle class family plunged into poverty by medical expenses, but they weren’t. The Uncompensated Care Fund made this possible for us. Though cancer wreaked havoc on their lives emotionally, it did not wreck them financially.
Today, Zoe still receives care from Seattle Children’s, and everyone is still looking out for Zoe’s best interests, making sure she gets the best quality care. It is our great honor to be back on our feet and in a position to help raise funds for the Uncompensated Care Fund.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
