Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center!  As you know BARCC has been one of the most important parts my life for a LONG time. In fact, on June 1st , I will be celebrating 15 years on the staff! 

I see and feel the difference BARCC makes every day in small and in big ways.  For example, this year we were instrumental in helping a critical bill become law.  Until now it would not have been possible for a victim to get a restraining order if the perpetrator was a neighbor, a co worker, or a friend.  Because BARCC works on the ground with survivor's every day, we were able to help legislators see this serious gap in protection.  It was a unanimous vote in the House and Senate and we will be inviting some of the strongest supporters to the walk to be recognized.

BARCC also helped to sucessfully advocate for the restoration of 1 million dollars in funds for the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner program which is a vital resouce for child, teen, and adult survivors.  Join the "Support SANE" page on Facebook if you want to learn more and help us advocate this spring to preserve these funds.
