Well I survived!!! It has been two weeks since the marathon and I am sorry it has taken me this long to send out a letter. I want to thank everyone for their encouragement and support. Running Boston was a great experience in many ways. First, I was able to help raise money for children and families in need. Thanks to all of you who were able to sponsor me and support such a great organization. Secondly, I was able to run a race that I have always wanted to run since qualifying my first time in 1998.
Marathon weekend was a lot of fun. We were hosted by a family from the Covenant Church in Hopkinton, MA. This made marathon day great. We slept in until 8 and walked to the starting area instead of being bused there from Boston at 6:45 am. Once starting the marathon I soon came to find out that this was going to be a very challenging course as many had told me. After finishing I can say it is not a course I wish to run again. I am not sure which was more difficult the downhills or the uphills. I finished in 3:53:07. This was not the time I was hoping for but that is ok. I am glad I was able to finish, which I was questioning at a couple points in the run!!
Once again thank you for your support and encouragement!
