Hi! 

I will once again this year be running the Thanksgiving Day Race but this year for a special reason ~ to raise money for the Burroughs Community Center!   

I am the Vice President of the Burroughs Board of Directors and given today's financial climate we are doing all we can to raise the funds we need to offer all the programs we bring to the community.  

Burroughs is located in the West End of Bridgeport and we have a bunch of great program for kids and families alike.  Our after school, tutoring and summer programs for middle school students are terrific.  Our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program has completed more than 1,400 returns in 5 years returning more than $2 Million back to the community!  The latest effort ~ the Quick Start Language Center is teaching people English using great computer software - free of charge!

I know that times are tough and getting a bit tougher each day with this crazy economy.  The trickle down effect could really hurt agencies like Burroughs that do great work and have so many families relying on their programs.
