Thank you for visiting my funraising page!
I am sure most of you that have come this far have heard, from either Kristine or me, about the battles that Will and his family fight every day. His story and life are inspiring but there is a tremendous amount of work that is still to be done. On Saturday, August 11th I will be running the Falmouth Road Race in support of The Friends of Will Cancer Foundation.
Will was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma at 7 months old and deemed untreatable after relapsing at the age of two. There is no cure for this disease once it comes back. Neuroblastoma is very deadly and the overall survival rate has not improved much over the last 30 years. As a 2 year old with relapsed Neuroblastoma the only treatment options available to Will were through clinical trials, which are incredibly expensive to conduct. Will began treatments via multiple clinical trials and has undergone over 100 cycles of tumor directed therapy since diagnosis. Amazingly, his tumors are now "asleep." Thanks to an incredible team of dedicated physicians and the fundraising efforts of people like Will's family and the Neuroblastoma community, there is progress being made to keep the research and trials going and to help kids fight Neuroblastoma.
I am really excited to do even a small part to support this research and hope that you will be as generous as possible when contributing to this cause. Every dollar that is raised via Friends of Will goes directly toward opening clinical trials to help these kids live. Thank you so much for every dollar you can spare!!!
