Since May 2009, Gonzo Soccer has provided over 150 girls with great soccer training, valuable life skills lessons and fun, motivational field trips. In these first two critical years, it was donations made here, by all of our supporters, that allowed us to get up and running and make our program strong enough for grant contention! We are still rewarding the supporters who donate $40 or more with a Gonzo Soccer back pack, so if you donate make sure to email us with your address! The story about how we got these bags is pretty cool--it begins with Julie Foudy and involves two young ladies who played together on Chicago Fire Juniors; you can read about it and see the bags on the blog section of our website www.gonzosoccer.org.
In the past year, we have had girls receive scholarships to private schools (see Maggies video to the left), to play club soccer, and even to university soccer camps. I thank you in advance for your support of Gonzo Soccer and of the young girls who are dedicated every week to showing up and working hard!
Please don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might be interested in supporting us!

Gonzo Soccer is a soccer and leadership academy in Chicago that provides girls ages 8-16 in underserved communities premier soccer training, academic assistance and valuable life skills that will foster their growth and empower them to reach their full potential as athletes and students.
These days, access to youth soccer participation has become extremely restricted. High fees deny most Hispanic youth--who are extremely passionate about soccer--the opportunity to participate. Talented girls are missing out on the chance to play and to reap the life-transforming benefits that participation in sports provides, especially those in Chicago Public Schools. These barriers subsequently lead to risky behavior, poorer health outcomes, developmental delays, teen parenthood, and academic failure.
Gonzo Soccer removes these barriers to equal opportunities by providing a fun, safe environment in which to play, state of the art leadership curriculum, academic tutoring, ongoing interaction with engaging female role models, seminars for parents, field trips for the girls and their families to experience together, and connections to valuable scholarships that will further their soccer and academic careers.
"The greatest impact we can have on a young woman is to inspire her while simultaneously arming her with the tools she needs to achieve her dreams."
