Good Sports Marathon Team
The Team
When Mark, Jay, Ali, Danny, Rebecca and Rudy started out on NBC's hit show "The Biggest Loser", their goal was to create a healthier lifestyle for themselves. After years of being overweight and subject to numerous health risks, each decided it was time to take action before it was too late. They had a responsibility not only to themselves, but also to their loved ones that they make the necessary changes to ensure they live long and happy lives. When all was said and done, the six contestants had lost nearly 1,000 pounds while on the show, putting each in the best shape of their lives.
Since leaving the show the six of them have focused their efforts on making a difference in the lives of others. That effort continues over the next two months as each will train for 26.2 grueling miles in Boston to support Good Sports, a non-profit organization aimed at increasing participation among disadvantaged youth in sports by making donations of equipment to the community organizations that serve them. Mark, Jay, Ali, Danny, Rebecca and Rudy are hoping to impact the lives of children across the country at a young age, putting them in a better position to lead healthy and active lifestyles as adults.
Sponsoring the Runners
If you would like to help the former weight-loss contestants in their efforts to make youth sports accessible to all children, regardless of their financial capabilities, please consider making a contribution using the "Sponsor Me Now" button on this page. Due to their strong relationships with sporting goods manufacturers, Good Sports is able generate $2 worth of equipment for every $1 donated. As a result, a donation of $50 will mean more than $100 worth of equipment will be handed out to the kids that need it most.
