Gracio Garcia's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting the Gentle Giant Rowing Club fund raising page!
In April 2009, our colleague and friend, Brendan Ward, was in a tragic accident that injured his spinal cord and left him paralyzed from the chest down. Brendan has a true Giant HEART in every sense of the word - Honest, Enthusiastic, Always going above and beyond, Respectful, and a consummate Team player. While his daily presence is missed "on the trucks," we are thrilled to have the opportunity to see him regularly at company functions.
Despite this terrible incident and the challenges that face Brendan, his attitude is exceptional and - in true Giant fashion - he is ready to tackle any obstacle. Those around Brendan - his family, his friends, and his co-workers - admire him to no end and wish to be as supportive as possible during this time of rehabilitation, as well as all of his future endeavors.
Immediately following the accident, many Giants began to pull together, asking themselves and each other, "what more can we do for Brendan?" A fundraiser seemed like a perfect means to ensure that Brendan had an appropriate nest egg for his short and long-term housing, transportation, and day-to-day living expenses.
What is the goal? We are trying to raise $100,000.
How does it work? We're selling fundraising tickets for $50.00 (portions of tickets are also available in $10.00 increments).
If less than $100,000 is raised, we will do a drawing for 10% of the total amount raised, with the remaining funds going to Brendan.
Please lend your support to this important and deserving cause by purchasing a ticket or as many as you can!
Please make your Credit Card Donation here at "firstgiving" and then Email fduffy@gentlegiant.com Your email will go to fundraising coordinator Frances Duffy at Gentle Giant Moving Company.
