We're in the middle of a mess, everywhere you turn the brokeness and lostness of the world is evident. It's easy to find poverty, starvation, young girls victimized in the sex trade, addictions, orphans, persecution. God has broken my heart for the lost and victims of oppression. So, what now? How to respond with the love of Christ and be the hands and feet of the Gospel that leads to transformed lives and Christ glorified?  Willing obedience to God's will for my life is the answer. As he reveals His will to me, the action to which I respond to His great love for me changes. It will be different for you also. My passions may not be your passions. One thing is for certain, it is past time to get off the sidelines. We must run hard the race set before us to spread His Gospel and show mercy, grace and forgiveness to our world.

I have a passion for running. It is my time with my Savior and I need it like the air I breathe. I am running with Team Samaritan's Purse in the Georgia marathon March 17, 2013.  Samaritan's Purse reaches the oppressed to meet not only their physical needs but  their spiritual needs which holds an eternal value.  Many lives have been touched through this ministry. You may have been involved with Operation Christmas Child which is part of Samaritan's Purse. They also bring medical care, clean water and a sustainable food source such as chickens or milking cows. The ministry also responds to disasters and victimization. The marathon will be about something much bigger than me but about how God can use someone small and weak to bring glory and honor to Him. It will be a run with purpose.
