As the East Coast battens down for the onslaught of Hurricane Sandy, the path and extent of the storm are unclear. It looks to be shaping up as an unprecedented weather system, stretching from Bermuda all the way to northern Canada, and meterologists are predicting major damage in cities from Washington DC to New York. One thing is clear: hundreds of thousands of people will be affected and diaster relief agencies will be called upon to assist those in need.
