Texas Flags of Honor
A funny thing has happened in California. The 1st Marine Division Association was told by the State of California that a permit would be necessary to fly 1,000 3 foot by 5 foot American Flags along Interstate 5 in Southern California and that no such permit could be issued for such an activity due to a 9th Circuit Court decision remanding a case back to a lower court which basically said if the American Flag could be placed along a California Interstate then so could the flag of any Terrorist Nation or any nation for that matter. The 1st Marine Division Association was doing this to show our troops, veterans and families of our KIA's how much we care. All of this was part of the Honor Run which is a cross country motorcycle ride to raise funds for the construction of a Fisher House and to provide scholarships for the families of our Wounded and Fallen Warriors. Please click here for complete information on this incredible effort.
So fellow Texans I am asking you to help show the State of California what real patriotism is all about!!! Let''s see if we can't fly 2,000 flags in the Great State of Texas and raise some money for this worthy cause by flying these flags during the Honor Runs visit to Texas on August 14, 15, 16 and 17, 2009.
