Walk for the Animals is the Humane Society of Broward County's largest annual fundraiser and is scheduled for Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Esplanade Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale. The Humane Society of Broward County continues to provide the highest number of adoptions in the Southeast United States. This year we are starting our fundraising a little early to assist the Humane Society of Broward County with their Hurricane relief efforts. The Humane Society of Broward County has not only taken an active leadership role assisting the animals left behind in the storms path, but has continued to ensure a better world for animals. Staff and volunteers are teaching thousands of children and adults about respect, kindness and proper animal care through many programs and services. These educational programs and services are funded 100% by private donations and through special fundraising events such as the Walk for the Animals. This is why your help is so vitally important. In 2005, the walk broke all records and raised $385,000. In 2006 we plan to break that record.
