Gregory Saltzberg's Fundraising Page
Greetings !!
I hope this letter finds you and your families well. I’m running a bit late this year….again – but that is OK as I have been training. On July 12th, 2008 I will once again be cycling 100 miles in and around the seacoast area of New Hampshire as part of the 5th annual Granite State Quest. As many of you now know, this event is a fundraiser for the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit. The MGH team has world renown experience in treating childhood leukemia, lymphomas and brain tumors. Their work has been a leading factor in the reduction of pediatric deaths over the past 10 years.
Taking learnings from other fund raising cycling events, a core team of five Timberland employees organized a 100-mile bike ride through scenic coastal New Hampshire. We tackle all logistics – designed the ride, recruit the riders and volunteers, organize logistics that range from ensuring proper nutrition and hydration for riders to first aid and technical support – especially for those relic 10-speeders that haven’t seen the road in a great number of years.
In the past five years we have raised almost $500,000 for MGH !! 100% of all funds raised go to Mass General thanks to the generosity of our many volunteers and sponsors. MGH recently honored the Granite State Quest as one of “the one hundred” -- the top individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to advancing the fight against cancer.
I want to thank all of you who have supported me in the past and I hope I can look forward to your support in the future.
Take care and I wish you all a great summer!!!
