Dear Friends and Family,
Stephen Bruce Alcott, also known as Grumpy, was diagnosed with ALS in 2008, and passed away this January. It has been our mission ever since his diagnosis to join The Angel Fund in their goal of raising money to find a cure for ALS. We would be thrilled if you would like to donate, walk with us or cheer on the team.
On June 10, 2012, we will be participating in the 9th Annual Sharon Timlin 5k Race/Walk to Cure ALS. This event raises money towards finding a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. ALS is a progressive and fatal illness that attacks motor neurons. When these neurons die, the ability of the brain to control muscle movement is lost. This results in paralysis and is terminal usually in three to five years.
Our personal fundraising goal is $2000. This money will be directed to UMass Medical Center where Dr. Robert Brown and his colleagues are doing groundbreaking research on this devastating disease. All donations are tax deductible and company matching contribututions are highly appreciated.
A donation of any amount is encouraged and can be made by clicking the "Donate" button. If you prefer to write a check, please make it out to "The Angel Fund" and mail it to 71A West Central Street, Natick MA 01760. We will add all mailed donations to our page.
