******BACKGROUND***** Please donate to save Zeva aka Dead Dog Walking and soon to be a mom with 7 pups.
Eight lives are in your hands! Money donation will give Zeva & her pups the medical, surgical care they need. Rescuer cannot help eight dogs without money.
Zeva was a DEAD DOG WALKING after 51-day @Carson shelter!
Her "entered date" was August 5th, 2010. Her kill date was September 24th, 2010. Her ID number is A4168191. Shelter kept her 51 days because the volunteers asked them to. This long stay is very extra-ordinary. Volunteers must be credit for Zeva's survival that long at shelter.
On Sept. 23rd, 2010, a 911 email plea from Debbie to everybody under the sun pleading for the second round to help this mini-poodle female, hit by car, multiple tumors.
Debbie wrote: "......Before deciding that she is better off dead, can’t we at least get her out of the shelter and evaluated by a vet? Perhaps she has an operable situation…. If not, then at the very least can’t someone hold this darling dog in their arms and let her slip away from this horrible world in peace?..."
First round of Debbie's plea on 9/9/10 did not bring any help to this dog. The 911 email/second round plea landed into my IN box. I enlisted many folks to locate a rescue group who can help this dog exit to another world as a "good send off".
Big heart but cash strapped Stephanie @ Animals Rule Placement Foundation stepped up with the intention of giving Zeva " a good send off". There was no way Stephanie can afford to pay for all un-expected huge vet bills, because Animals Rule just pulled Stella, a pure bred English cocker spaniel out of the Baldwin shelter. Click HERE to see picture of Stella and her surgery.
Unbeknown to rescue, Stella needed a double knees surgery this week at a cost of $1,500, because Stella cannot walk with wobbling knees. Fund raising for this cocker spaniel is very poor; it's sort like someone who is dying of thirst in search of a drinkable sip of water in the Sahara desert!
Zeva, the mini-poodle was bailed & brought to Stephanie @6pm on 9/23/10. Stephanie took dog to the vet for an exam and a "good send off" on 9/24/ 10.
All hell break loose! Dog is pregnant and due this week with 7 pups. Dog also has other tumors, rotten teeth, weak, overbred, etc....

Oct. 23, 2010 - Five pups are thriving. The pups were named after the Vet and the tech's who helped deliver them.
Oct. 14, 2010 - Zeva and her five remained pups are doing fine at this time.
Oct. 9, 2010 - Another pup died. Two white male pups & three black female pups are growing. They are cared by an experienced vet tech.
Oct. 2, 2010 @10:00 PM. One pup died. Zeva was at Manhattan Beach Adoption Event today looking for a home. She is 8-yr old, but acts like a 2-yr old.
Sept. 30, 2010 @8:30 AM. Zeva is up and about. She enjoys the best care from Stephanie. All her 7 newborns including the weakest one who are now taking the bottle well. Zeva will be at Animals Rule pet adoption booth, Manhattan Beach Fire Station 1 (38th Manhattan Beach Hometown Fair) from 10 - 5PM on Oct 2, 3, 2010.
Sept. 29, 2010 @5:00 PM. - All pups drink, pee, poop fine now. 3 pups had some challenge last night. It's a big relief. Mom is recuperating from C-section, tumors removal and spayed. We are waiting for the result of the biopsy.
Sept. 28, 2010 @5:00 PM. " Zeva made it through the night. Had C section at Veterinary Surgical Specialists today: Four girls, three boys. Her tumor masses were nasty so they are sending them out to see, if she has cancer."
Sept. 27, 2010 @9:30 PM: "Lots of mucus and bloody show tonight and she is very uncomfortable. She has produced no milk at all for these puppies. 3 of her mammory glands are totally blocked by tumors and the other mammory glands are not producing any milk for some reason. Probably because she has been bread to death by her prior owners. The plan is to do a crash C section on her tomorrow at a Vet specialist where our volunteer works. They will remove her tumors and fix her at the same time. She will get a dental for her nasty poodle teeth later. There is a good possibility this can all go south in the middle of the night tonight too and she might end up in the Emergency vet in Torrance, Southern CA. Either way the puppies are coming in the next 12 hours and we are scrambling for people to help us bottle feed new borns. We pray she makes it until tomorrow morning. "
We will update Zeva's status frequently.
Please donate. You can name any survived pups (hopefully all seven pups), if you can donate a big chunk of money (hint).
