Before I embark upon my year of service, this summer I am traveling to Rwanda, Uganda and Senegal. I'll be gone from July 7 - August 21. I am going to the first two countries with other members of my synagogue (JRC in Evanston). We will be volunteering at a clinic for women with HIV/AIDS in Rwanda and at a multifaith coffee co-op in Uganda. We will also be celebrating Shabbat with the Abayudaya, a Jewish ethnic group. After that, I am returning to Senegal to spend a month with my family and friends from the year I spent there in 2006-2007. That said, I will have limited and intermittent access to the Internet.
