In 1989, I was diagnosed with MS. Now, I ride and I talk and I beg for your money to help cure MS.
Multiple Sclerosis, or MS, is a chronic demyelinating disorder of the
central nervous system. MS often results in severe disability including the
inability to walk, impaired vision or in some cases blindness,
cognitive dysfunction, bladder and bowel problems, extreme fatigue
and other serious symptoms. Unfortunately, no one knows what causes
Multiple Sclerosis, there is no known cure for the disease,
and treatments are modest at best. Even though the disease is not communicable,
the disability of MS impacts day to day living not only the
individual but family, friends, co-workers, and many others who know someone with MS.
In the US, there are over 400,000 people with MS. Worldwide an estimated 2 million individuals worldwide have MS. Besides the just the people diagnosed with MS, the effective impact on society is much larger. If just one person with MS, has a support network of 5 people, the social impact is 2 million people in the US alone.
We must cure MS!
