Hardy Girls Healthy Women's Fundraising Page
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
In honor of Karen Heck's induction into the 2008 Maine Women's Hall of Fame we're raising money to establish a girls' scholarship fund for Hardy Girls Healthy Women's (HGHW) programming.
With your support, we'll honor the incredible work that Karen has been doing for more than 20 years on behalf of girls and women.
In all her work, Karen has insisted that the voices of young women and girls be brought to the table and heard. In establishing this scholarship fund, we'll ensure that girls of all economic backgrounds have access to the kinds of programs and services that can and will change their lives.
This HGHW scholarship fund will provide girls with access to our programs such as Adventure Girls and Girls' Coalition Groups.
Thank your for your support. Please, give generously in honor of Karen and all her incredible contributions to the girls' and women's movement in Maine.

"Karen made me realize that being a girl is way more empowering then I thought. I have this motherly respect for Karen, she’s always made sure that my not-so-stable environment I was around wasn't effecting me in negative ways, and that I could talk to her about anything that was bothering me. She taught me to speak up and go for 'it' - whatever 'it' may be." - Kerri Knights, Green Mountain College Student
"Karen is a tremendous role model for me. She's a personal hero. Karen has a rare combination of passion, and ability to communicate across perspectives and differences." - Sarah Standiford, Maine Women's Lobby
"Karen embodies the feminist social change that we need to achieve gender equality. She appreciates and involves women and girls of all ages and backgrounds in creating healthy environments where women and girls can thrive; she is tireless in her fundraising, cheerleading, and advocating for women's total equality." - Karin Anderson, Dala Consulting
