In 2006, Hardy Girls Healthy Women partnered with the Greater Waterville C4CY to create a cutting edge multi-media program, Ugly Ducklings, designed to educate and inspire people to take action against bias-based bullying and harassment of gay and lesbian youth.  In the years since, the project has taken off, reaching hundreds of people across the country....but we're not done yet!

This project truly discloses the crisis that exists for LGBTQ youth and the homophobia and heterosexism that is widely tolerated, accepted, and supported within schools, faith-based organizations, and families.  Ugly Ducklings has the power to transform our culture by providing the public with the real life personal narratives of LGBTQ people and their heterosexual allies.  This film will help us all combat the devastating effects of bias-based harassment.

With each fresh viewing, Ugly Ducklings begins to dissect the culture of exclusion and harassment and engage instead in a new dialogue about social acceptance.  It's time.  It's past time.  Help us continue the revolution.
