I just have to tell you how excited I am about our first Big Foot Family Fun Walk.  (This is officially the 2nd year of the walk, but it had to be cancelled the first year due to a thunderstorm.)

While the length of the walk isn't an endurance test like a Boston Marathon, its purpose is to raise money in honor of siblings and families who often tackle an endurance test on a daily basis, just to keep life together.  Money raised will be used to support programs such as Sibshops, Sib Camp, SibDays of Summer and many other FVSSN programs for children who have siblings with special needs or long-term illnesses. 

I'm looking forward to many siblings participating in the Big Foot walk with their siblings and families.  The path is wheelchair accessible and along the way, a variety of agencies will be keeping it interesting with games, treats and information.

NOT IN THE APPLETON AREA TO JOIN US?  No problem. Your donation on this website will make you feel just as good as a brisk walk...maybe even better!  You can be sure that all donations are used for programs like Sibshops, Sib Camp and other vital programs to support siblings.

No one has a longer relationship than brothers and sisters.  While their closeness may vary throughout their lives, siblings of people with disabilities share most of the same concerns of their parents, including isolation, guilt, caregiving demands and future concerns.  While there are just as many joys in the experience, no generation of siblings will have a larger role in the well-being of their vulnerable siblings than today's children. 

That's why the Fox Valley Sibling Support Network was founded.  That is also why I personally pledge to donate a portion of the funds I raise from this page to the Sibling Support Project as a thank you to its director, Don Meyer, for creating the Sibshop model and being an outstanding advocate for siblings.

Every little bit counts, so I ask you to give whatever you can to help sibling programs continue in the Fox Valley and beyond.
