Heath Helton's Fundraising Page
First off I'd like to thank you for visiting my extreme Personal Fundraising Page for Special Olympics Arkansas' Polar Plunge 2009. Yes I know I'm crazy but this will be my 1st year plunging for Special Olympics and I can't wait to do it! We will begin at noon on December 11th and begin jumping into Lakewood Lake #3 (North Little Rock) every hour for 24 hours straight!
I’ve been participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics for several years and it has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Earlier this year I ran over 30 miles accompanying the torch to Searcy, Arkansas, for the start of the Summer Games.
My goal is to fundraise $2,000 by December 11, 2009. I know that's a lot but I am determined. I need all the help I can get!! If anyone you know might want to sponsor me, please send him or her a link to my page! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.
I'm sure some of you are thinking, "Okay, okay but what is my money going to?" Special Olympics is a year-round international program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. The program gives Arkansas’ athletes continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
By using sport as a vehicle for social change, Special Olympics Arkansas strives to create opportunities for meaningful interaction and self-discovery for everyone. The organization’s goal is to open the hearts and minds of every Arkansan to the value and ability of persons with intellectual disabilities.
Your donation will also assist Special Olympics Arkansas in reaching our total fundraising goal of $1 million dollars. That's 1 great reason for you to donate and 999,999 reasons for me to jump in the freezing water when the temperatures are sure to be very cold!
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate, too.
