Thank you for visiting my personal fundraising page!  I am a member of the 2010 Special Olympics Virginia National Games Team.
      Every four years, thousands of Special Olympics athletes from around the nation come together to showcase their athletic skills and celebrate the true spirit of competition through summer sports.

      Heather will represent VA in aquatics. She has participated in the VA SO for the last 12 years. She has participated in aquatics, bowling, soccer, and basketball. She has won over 45 medals in Special Olympics.

     Heather is also a performer in the Rhythms of Hope Dance Troupe, which uses dance as a therapeutic tool for people with brain injuries. They perform before civic groups to promote understanding of people with disabilities.

      She has been working as a contractor for Service Source at the Department of Commerce in Washington, DC for the past nine years. She was just awarded the Service Source Employee of the Year in 2009. Heather enjoys spending time with her friends, writing poetry, listening to music, and traveling.                

     The event will be held from July 18-23, 2010, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.  It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my effort to get to Lincoln.
