Heather and Vince's effort to save lives
On February 26th, Vince and I will participate in Furry Friends Network's Strikes for Strays in an effort to raise money for Furry Friends Network.
Elsa is our current foster - the most loving and sweetest pup. After being forced to have 9 puppies, she was surrendered to the local SPCA with 5 of her puppies. She had developed demodex, as had her puppies, and her owner no longer wanted her. Elsa was very sick and the shelter is no place for a dog with a weakened immune system. Furry Friends Network pulled her and her puppies from the shelter and put them all in foster care - homes where they were able to recover and become healthy.
Elsa's medical bills have been extensive, nearing $1500 in just a couple months time - the demodex caused a secondary skin infection as well as an ear infection. She's been in out of the vet every few days, to every couple of weeks. She has received incredible care and as result has no signs of the demodex.
For those who have met her, you know that she is so deserving of a long healthy life with a family to love her day in and day out. For those who haven't met her, I can tell you that she is just one of the many many dogs who are truly saved by Furry Friends Network. This is an ALL volunteer organization - every single penny goes towards helping the animals.
Vince and I are participating in Strikes for Strays to raise money for Elsa's care, as well as the hundreds of dogs and cats that will be helped by Furry Friends Network this year alone. Please help to not only pay for Elsa's care, but that of the many other dogs we've fostered throughout the year and who are currently in foster care.
Whether you can spare $5, $50, or $100 - you can feel good knowing that your support has helped to LITERALLY SAVE A LIFE!
Please, consider a donation to help Elsa and all the dogs and cats who have been forgotten. If you want to bowl with us - let us know!!! And, please please please - spay and neuter your pets!
