TEAM HOPE

“With hope, all things are possible.”

Two years ago, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Brain Cancer and given very little hope of surviving a year. My surgeon at UCSF, Mitch Berger, gave me my first words of hope when he told me that my “glass is half full” and that I “could beat this cancer”. I have witnessed the power of hope in my life as I continue to fight this disease.

My good friend, Kate Burke, received the same diagnosis almost 4 years ago. She has become a role model for me with her positive attitude, faith and commitment to helping other patients. We are choosing to continue this battle for so many that have lost their fight and for those that are continuing to thrive as we are. Together, we have formed Team Hope. We are team captains and have a lofty goal to raise enough funds to help find a cure for this devastating disease. We will be walking in the upcoming National Brain Tumor Foundation’s “Brain Tumor Walk and Angel Adventure” on Saturday, May 3rd in San Francisco .
